Three Stooges fest in Canton

Why I oughta … go to the Canton Palace Theatre for the Three Stooges Film Fest at 8 p.m., including What’s the Matador?, Matri-phony, Three Smart Saps and Cactus Makes Perfect (we’re betting someone gets a prickly pear to the face). Only $6 for all these nyuk-nyuks and a Curly Shuffle contest, too. The Palace is at 605 Market Ave. N., Canton; 330-452-4098, www.cantonpalacetheatre.org.

Peking Acrobats in Cleveland

The Peking Acrobats, now in their 31st year of touring, return to Playhouse Square’s Connor Palace at 7:30 p.m. in Cleveland. Their eye-popping combination of circus feats, gymnastics, martial arts and pure showmanship are accompanied by live musicians on traditional Chinese instruments. Tickets are $10-$39 at www.playhousesquare.org or 216-241-6000.

Stow wine tasting is for a cause

These wines not only taste good, but they also do good. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wine Shop at Kirbie’s in Stow, you can sample One Hope wines, a California winery that donates a portion of its profits to various causes. Featured wines are cabernet sauvignon (donations to Autism Care and Treatment Today), chardonnay (Gateway for Cancer Research), pinot noir (ASPCA) and zinfandel (Support Our Troops). Kirbie’s is at 4062 Fishcreek Road in Stow, in the Oregon Trails Plaza at Graham Road. Samples are 25 cents each.

Crafty ideas in downtown Akron

It’s the first Saturday of the month, so you can find a full day of entertainment in downtown Akron. The Crafty Mart’s Mom & Pop Shoppe runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with handmade goods for sale at three locations: Akron Art Museum, 1 S. High St.; Summit Artspace, 140 E. Market St.; and Akron-Summit County Public Library, 60 S. High St. The art museum and library will also host Countryside Conservancy’s farmers markets. www.craftymart.org. Starting at 5, take in the monthly Akron Artwalk at galleries, restaurants and other venues, with a free trolley to take you around. www.downtownakron.com/artwalk.
