Get a free prom dress in Akron

The “Rose Project” will distribute free prom dresses and accessories from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Reidinger Middle School, 77 W. Thornton St., Akron. It’s sponsored by the Andrea Rose Teodosio Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit organization that assists the underprivileged and elderly, addresses environmental issues and promotes community service and education.

Block party lauds Barberton art

The Inside|Out project has placed an art installation in Barberton, and the community is invited to a free block party at the museum from 1-3 p.m. to celebrate. A docent-led gallery tour will start at 2 p.m. about Raphael Gleits­mann’s oil painting The Brown Gloves (1932), the artwork that is featured in Barberton. Century Cycles plans night ride

Warm weather means the return of the Century Cycles Night Rides. The casual rides on the Towpath Trail begin at 8 p.m. and run about 14 miles, with riding at your own pace. Creative kids go to Summit Mall

Summit Mall is hosting a Kidgits Lil’ Artists event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children can experiment with different forms of art and exhibitors from the Ohio Regional Music, Arts and Cultural Outreach, Project Ed Bear/Live Thru Art and Dance Beatz will be on hand in the Dillard’s Women’s Court.
