Sip ‘Coffees Around the World’

Akron Coffee Roasters is offering samples of “Coffees Around the World” from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Akron Art Museum, four brews from different growing regions, paired with pastries from the West Side Bakery. Member tickets are $6.27, nonmembers $11.54 at http://akronartmuseum.org. And it’s Free Thursday, so you can bounce around the galleries afterward — some of the works in NeoGeo could really blow your mind on a caffeine-and-sugar buzz.

‘Talley’s Folly’ at Actors’ Summit

Actors’ Summit’s latest production is Talley’s Folly, which runs through May 1 at 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. The one-act romantic play by Lanford Wilson won the Pulitzer in 1980. Tickets are $33, $28 seniors and $10 students. The theater is on the sixth floor of Greystone Hall, 103 S. High St., Akron; 330-374-7568, www.actorssummit.org.

Rock talk at Nordonia Hills library

Northeast Ohio’s ties to rock ’n’ roll will be discussed at Akron-Summit County Public Library’s Nordonia Hills branch at 7 p.m. Author Deanna Adams will lead the discussion that will touch on Northeast Ohio rock legends including Alan Freed, the O’Jays, the James Gang with Joe Walsh, Devo, Chrissie Hynde, Macy Gray and others. Authors to read from picture book

At the library’s Highland Square branch, 807 W. Market St., Allison and Wayne Marks, authors of Og’s Ark, read from and sign their book and offer Practical Advice on Getting Your Children’s Picture Book Published, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Registration is requested; call 330-376-2927.
