Attend the Cleveland International Film Festival

The 40th annual Cleveland International Film Festival kicks off at 7 p.m. at Tower City Cinemas, where the opening-night film is Good Ol’ Boy, about a 10-year-old boy from India growing up in America in 1979. After the film, there will be a party at 9 p.m. in Post Office Plaza in Tower City Center. Tickets for the gala opening are $200 at www.clevelandfilm.org. Too rich for your blood? Check out the schedule at the website and make your viewing plans for the rest of the festival, which runs through April 10.

Learn about some birds at the metro parks

Northeast Ohio’s parks offer great chances to spot warblers, colorful migrating birds who pass through on their way north for summer. Summit Metro Parks will present a free program on identifying warblers from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Seiberling Nature Realm, 1828 Smith Road, Akron, with identification tips (they can be hard to tell apart). For more information, call 330-865-8065 or www.summitmetroparks.org.
