Day replaces Tim Beck, who left OSU to join Texas and former Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman.
Day previously worked as the quarterback coach with the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco fired head coach Chip Kelly after the season. Prior to working in the NFL, Day was the offensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014 at Boston College and at Temple in 2012.
He worked with Kelly in the last two seasons in San Francisco and Philadelphia.
His career began with OSU head coach Urban Meyer in 2005 when he served as a graduate assistant in 2005.
