Watch Rolling Stones on screen
More than 50 years after they first played together, the Rolling Stones are still packing stadiums. Tickets cost a fortune, but you can get the next best thing with Olé Olé Olé!, a big-screen documentary about the band’s Latin American tour earlier this year, including a stop in Havana. It’s playing on big screen at Valley View, Crocker Park and Richmond Town Center at 8 p.m. For tickets, see www.fathomevents.com.
Have a crooner Christmas
Crooner Andy Williams passed away in 2012, but his name lives on in the Andy Williams Christmas Extravaganza, featuring the Osmond Brothers and Lennon Sisters, coming to Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30-$45 at 330-259-0555, www.stambaughauditorium.com.
See performance of ‘Messiah’
Another holiday mainstay is Handel’s Messiah (even though the famed Hallelujah Chorus is actually part of the Easter section of the oratorio). Apollo’s Fire will perform Messiah at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Akron, with soloists soprano Meredith Hall, mezzo-soprano Amanda Crider, tenor Karim Sulayman, baritone Jeffrey Strauss and conductor Jeannette Sorrell on harpsichord. Tickets are $27-$35 and free for students in Akron, funded by the GAR Foundation. St. Paul’s is at 1361 W. Market St., Akron. www.apollosfire.org.
