Falls officials warn of scam targeting utility users

The city of Cuyahoga Falls is warning its residents of a potential scam to swindle customers of private information.

The Falls utility billing department has made public officials aware of “reports about scam phone calls trying to get utility customers information from them,” the city posted on its Facebook page.

Officials are reminding residents that unless a phone call has been placed with the utilities department, “there should be no reason for them to call you” and that the utility department already has each customer’s information on file.
