Authorities have found two people unresponsive and suspected of ingesting opiates in a Honda SUV parked less than 100 yards from a hospital on Forge Street.
Beacon Journal news partner Channel 5 reported that two people appear to have suffered a drug overdose. They were discovered by Summa police hanging partially out of a vehicle illegally parked on Forge Street near Akron City Hospital Thursday morning.
Akron police told Channel 5 five that Narcan, which can reverse the life-threatening effects of heroin and other opiates, was administered to the two, who were taken to the emergency room by first responders from the Akron Fire Department.
There is no word yet on the condition of either person.
