A man is dead after he was shot by a Hudson police officer Sunday afternoon on Hudson Aurora Road.
A news release from the city reports that around 2:45 p.m., the suspect was traveling at a high speed on the Ohio Turnpike in Hudson when he sideswiped another vehicle and his car flipped.
“The male motorist climbed out of the damaged vehicle and fled, “ Hudson Communications Manager Jody Roberts said in the news release.
A Hudson police officer went searching for the suspect and found him in a nearby woods off Hudson Aurora Road.
“A struggle ensued and shots were fired,” Roberts said. “The suspect is deceased, and the officer was taken to the hospital but is doing fine.”
The State Bureau of Criminal Investigation is now handling the investigation.
Names of the officer and suspect weren’t released Sunday night.
