COLUMBUS: Mayors from Ohio’s largest cities and suburbs — including those from Akron, Canton and Cuyahoga Falls — are forming a new, bipartisan coalition called the Ohio Mayors Alliance.
The mayors will make the announcement during a news conference at 10:15 a.m. Friday at the Boat House at Confluence Park in Columbus.
“The group has come together to help strengthen Ohio’s cities through collaboration, improved advocacy and stronger partnerships with state and federal policymakers,” the group said in a news release.
Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan, Canton Deputy Mayor Fonda Williams and Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Walters will take part in the announcement.
Other participating cities are: Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Dublin, Elyria, Euclid, Grove City, Lakewood, Lima, Lorain, Middletown, Parma, Toledo and Youngstown.
