Hotfoot it to dance shows

Tough choice tonight for dance fans:

• The Akron Art Museum has been mashing up its Intersections exhibit with other forms of arts. This time it’s Neos Dance, performing Symbiosis around the galleries and in the auditorium, inspired by the artists’ work and music that inspired them. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the performance at 7. Tickets are $25, $15 for students, seniors and Akron Art Museum members. www.neosdancetheatre.org.

• The Los Angeles-based company BodyTraffic will perform at 7:30 p.m. at Playhouse Square’s Ohio Theatre. On the program is contemporary repertoire including a work by Israeli Barak Marshall, a hip-hop-influenced piece by Victor Quijada and a piece by Richard Siegal set to American jazz music. Tickets start at $25. Call 216-241-6000.

Git on over to guitar heroes

Ohio Rock Legends pays acoustic tribute to guitar heroes like Joe Walsh, Michael Stanley, Led Zeppelin and Eric Clapton in a Club @ the Civic show at 8 p.m. on the Akron Civic Theatre stage. Tickets are $20 at 330-253-2488, www.akroncivic.com, or TicketMaster (1-800-745-3000).

Pop into the Potter Party

The Cuyahoga Falls Public Library hosts a free Harry Potter Party at 2 p.m. for children ages 7 and up. Make wands, brew potions, and eat Potter-inspired snacks, along with a variety of other activities. Costumes are encouraged. Tickets are required and can be picked up in the children’s department. The library is at 2015 Third St. 330-928-2117.

Make it to the Maker Faire

The free Akron Mini Maker Faire is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Akron-Summit County Public Library in downtown Akron. The spirit of innovation will be celebrated with displays and activities that include 3-D printing, arduino controllers and rubber band inventions. The library is at 60 S. High St. in Akron. For more information, visit akronlibrary.org.

Sail on with the Commodores

Unlike some long-running bands that share nothing but a name with their classic lineups, the current incarnation of the Commodores still boasts three longtime members. They’ll be playing the Nightshift at the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $38-$72 at 800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com.
