RAVENNA: Hearing dates have been set for Portage County prosecutors to argue why two teenagers should face adult charges for their roles in the killing of a Kent State University student earlier this month.
Juvenile Judge Robert Berger will hear arguments regarding Ty Kremling and Marquis Grier, both 17, at 8:30 a.m. March 4 and 9:30 a.m. March 9.
Kremling and Grier face charges of juvenile delinquency by way of aggravated murder. In adult court, they could face life in prison. In juvenile court, punishments would be much less severe.
The teens are accused of being in a group that shot and killed 18-year-old Nick Massa during a robbery at an off-campus Kent apartment on Feb. 7. Kent police said the investigation into who else was involved in Massa’s death is ongoing.
