Help Apollo’s Fire launch season
Apollo’s Fire launches its season with “Resplendent Purcell” at 7:30 p.m. at Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 W. Market St., Fairlawn. Purcell wrote for Queen Mary’s court, including birthday and funeral pieces that will be performed in this program with vocalists. Marking its 50th birthday, Ohio Mart runs through Sunday at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, 714 N. Portage Path, Akron. It includes art and craft vendors, children’s activities, food and a needlework exhibit. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The Chagrin Documentary Film Fest runs through Sunday in Chagrin Falls.
