Undrafted rookie cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun returned an interception 27 yards for a touchdown with 6:47 left in the second quarter to help the Browns capture a 13-10 halftime lead Sunday against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Browns used two players at quarterback in the first half: rookie Cody Kessler and quarterback-turned-wide receiver Terrelle Pryor.

In his NFL regular-season debut, Kessler completed 8-of-11 passes for 76 yards with a 91.5 passer rating.

Pryor completed 1-of-2 passes for 26 yards, ran twice for 14 yards and caught four passes for 62 yards. Pryor took six snaps in the first half.

Cornerback Jamar Taylor began the game by exacting revenge against the Dolphins, who drafted him in 2013 and traded him to the Browns in April. Taylor intercepted a pass from quarterback Ryan Tannehill during the second play from scrimmage, giving the Browns possession at the Dolphins' 33 with 14:20 left in the first quarter.

The Browns failed to capitalize on the turnover, though, because they committed one of their own. Kessler was strip-sacked by defensive end Cameron Wake, who rushed past right tackle Austin Pasztor. Defensive end Jason Jones recovered at the Dolphins' 39 with 12:53 remaining in the opening quarter.

Then the Dolphins assembled a five-play, 61-yard scoring drive with Tannehill and wide receiver DeVante Parker connecting in the end zone for a 26-yard touchdown over Boddy-Calhoun. The Dolphins took a 7-0 lead with 10:16 left in the first quarter.

The Browns rotated Pryor and Kessler during the ensuing possession and moved into position for a 41-yard field goal, but new kicker Cody Parkey missed wide left with 6:54 left in the first quarter.

The next time the Browns got the ball, Parkey didn't let them down. He capped a 10-play, 58-yard, Pryor-and-Kessler led drive with a 46-yard field goal, cutting the Dolphins' lead to 7-3 with 13:32 left in the second quarter.

Later, on third-and-3 at the Dolphins' 21, the Browns seized a 10-7 lead moments after defensive linemen Tyrone Holmes and Gabe Wright pressured Tannehill as he threw the interception to Boddy-Calhoun. Holmes may have hit Tannehill's arm before he released the ball.

Then the teams traded field goals. Dolphins kicker Andrew Franks made a 37-yard field goal to tie the score 10-10 with 1:57 left in the first half. Parkey made a 48-yard field goal with 42 seconds left in the second quarter, helping the Browns earn a 13-10 halftime lead.
