See flower power in Barberton

The Barberton Mum Fest fills the area around Lake Anna with some 17,000 mums, as well as offering food, entertainment, children’s activities, sand sculpting, art and crafts. It continues today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shuttle service is available from Barberton Middle School, 477 Fourth St. NW. Visit tinyurl.com/mumfest or call 330-848-6653.

Watch students rock ‘Cradle’

Kent State musical theater students, the Musical Theater Project and Beck Center for the Arts have collaborated on a production of The Cradle Will Rock, a politically themed musical about the labor movement in the 1930s that provided young Orson Welles with his first taste of controversy. See the rarely performed show at 2 p.m. at the E. Turner Stump Theatre, 1325 Theatre Drive, Kent; tickets are $14-$18. 330-672-2787.

One show, two Vicki Lawrences

Vicki Lawrence brings her “two-woman show” — herself and her long-running character Mama — to the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park at 7 p.m. Tickets are $38-$60.50 at 800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com.

Stomp grapes, then drink wine

Gervasi Vineyard hosts its Festa Gervasi: Grape Harvest Festival from noon to 5 p.m. with music, bocce, a kids’ carnival and other activities, not to mention Italian food, wine (of course) and beer. You can even stomp some grapes. Find out more at www.gervasivineyard.com.
