INDIANAPOLIS: An Indianapolis police officer who allegedly shot and wounded a fellow officer faces an extradition hearing in Ohio.

Hamilton County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mike Robison says Officer Adrian Aurs will appear Tuesday morning before a judge in Cincinnati.

Robison says Aurs will be asked at the hearing whether he’ll waive extradition or fight efforts to return him to Indiana, where he faces an attempted murder charge.

Police say Aurs shot a detective Friday who was investigating a domestic violence incident involving the 42-year-old officer and his estranged wife. That detective suffered elbow and back injuries.

Aurs fled to Ohio, where he was arrested. He’s being held at the Hamilton County Jail in Cincinnati.

Aurs has been suspended without pay, pending termination from Indianapolis police.
