Film classics at Cleveland Institute of Art, Capitol

See a couple of classics on the big screen:

• Bullitt, with the fabulously scowling Steve McQueen, has one of the most famous car chases ever put on film. The Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque is showing it at 7 p.m. in the Peter B. Lewis Theater, 11610 Euclid Ave. Admission is $10, $8 for members, students and under age 25. 216-421-7450, www.cia.edu/cinematheque. (Note that this week, Cinematheque patrons must enter building through Entrance C (off Lot 73) and vending machines will be inaccessible to filmgoers.)

•The Capitol Theatre is showing Hitchcock’s Torn Curtain, starring Julie Andrews and Cleveland’s own Paul Newman, through Thursday. And today is “Bargain Monday” with reduced admission and concession prices. The Capitol is at 1390 W. 65th St., Cleveland; call 440-528-0355 or see www.clevelandcinemas.com.
