HILLIARD, OHIO: Police say a 10-year-old boy has died from a gunshot wound at his home in central Ohio.
Hilliard police say they were called to the home in suburban Columbus around 4 p.m. Thursday and found Colin Fraley’s grandmother performing CPR on him.
Police say the grandmother told a dispatcher in a 911 call that her grandson accidentally shot himself in the head. She said he was unconscious and not breathing.
Chief Robert Fisher said an officer assisted with CPR until the boy could be taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say they are investigating. They wouldn’t immediately provide more details of the shooting.
Colin was in fifth grade at Scioto Darby Elementary School. Officials there said counselors would be available to talk with students and staff.
