A Ravenna man will spend seven years in prison for felonious assault in connection with shooting another man in Cuyahoga Falls last year, according to cleveland.com.
Summit County Common Pleas Judge Todd McKenney imposed the sentence on Thursday after Jason Beavers, 38, pleaded guilty.
Beavers argued with Fred Fleischer, 49, at a house in the 4200 block of Quick Road near Woodridge High School.
The two were arguing over possession of marijuana-growing equipment, police said.
Beavers had previously lived in the house but had moved out without picking up the equipment, police said.
Police, investigating the shooting of Fleischer, said they found evidence of a marijuana-growing operation at the house.
Fleischer was arrested on drug and child-endangering charges. He was sentenced to two years’ probation and had his driver’s license suspended for one year.
