Museum to hold art walk

The Akron Art Museum is holding an art walk at 6 p.m. in the Wallhaven area of west Akron, in conjunction with its outdoor Inside/Out exhibit. Reproductions of several of the museum’s most famous artworks have been installed in the area, including Linda, who looks down from a wall of the shopping plaza near Dunkin’ Donuts. Jerry Egan will conduct a walking tour, beginning at 6:15 at the parking lot of Hardesty Park, commenting on historical and architectural points of interest. It’s free. www.akronartmuseum.org.

Get lyrical at Poetry Slam

Bring your literary efforts to a Poetry Slam from 8-11 p.m. at the Akron Center for Art Music & Performance, 118 W. Market St., Akron. For ages 18 and over. Admission is $5. For information, email akroncamp118@gmail.com.

Community prom is for grown-ups

“A Night to Remember,” a community prom for ages 50 and over, will be held at 6 p.m. at the Tangier restaurant, 532 W. Market St., Akron. It will feature music by Chosen. Tickets are $40, $75 couple. For information, call 330-864-9073.

‘Lyle the Crocodile’ at Park Theatre

Magical Theatre Company is presenting Lyle the Crocodile at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Park Theatre, 565 W. Tuscarawas Ave., Barberton. The play, recommended for kids age 4 and up, is about the adventures of a crocodile in New York City. Tickets are $10 and $12. 330-848-3708, www.magicaltheatre.org.
