Akron police late Wednesday arrested a Chalker Street man for domestic violence and illegal fireworks, according to Beacon Journal news partner newsnet5.com.
The arrest came after police were called to a domestic dispute in the 1000 block of Chalker Street about 10 p.m.
The woman told police that her husband manufactured fireworks in the house and in the garage.
Police investigated and found materials to make commercial-quality fireworks, tools and completed fireworks.
They called the Akron Fire Department. It investigated and determined that the fireworks were stable and not a threat. No evacuation was required, officials said.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was called to remove the fireworks and related chemicals.
