Watch ‘Come to the Garden: On Stage’

Come to the Garden: On Stage features faith-based storyteller and author Jennifer Wilder Morgan and animated characters from her forthcoming book. It will be shown at 7 p.m. at the following cinemas, Cinemark Portage Crossing, Cuyahoga Falls; Hudson Cinema 10; Cinemark 15, Macedonia; Tinseltown USA, Jackson Township; Valley View 24; and Wooster Movies 10. See ‘Matilda the Musical’ performed in Cleveland

Matilda the Musical opens at 8 p.m. at Playhouse Square’s State Theatre, running through May 22 at 8 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sundays. Based on the book by Roald Dahl, the show tells the story of a brilliant girl who won’t be broken by awful parents and an evil headmistress. Hear a talk from Akron’s R. Shea Brewing

Ron Shea from Akron’s R. Shea Brewing gives a talk at 6:30 p.m. at Akron-Summit County Public Library, Northwest Akron branch, 1720 Shatto Ave., Akron. You’ll learn about how beer is made and what it’s like running a brewery. Register at 330-836-1081. (Sadly, no samples will be given out.)

Go on a hike in Firestone Metro Park
